About
Scarface: The World Is Yours is an open-world action game that serves as an alternate-history sequel to the 1983 film, casting players as a surviving Tony Montana rebuilding his drug empire across a recreated 1980s Miami. Developed by Radical Entertainment and published by Vivendi Games, it features driving, third-person shooting, and a 'Balls' meter that rewards aggressive play. It earned generally positive reviews and a cult following for capturing the film's tone. The PC version is long delisted because the underlying Scarface film license lapsed, leaving no official storefront release.

⚙ Setup notes
Game: 2006 Radical Entertainment / Vivendi open-world action game (long delisted due to lapsed film rights — bring your own copy). There is no canonical Steam release, so steam_appid is intentionally left blank (do not confuse it with the unrelated game "SCARF", app 645320).
Proton: Runs under Proton Experimental on Deck. Keep Proton Experimental selected — older Proton builds fail to detect the analog sticks.
Fix: Set launch option PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %COMMAND%. Without it you get a black screen.
Essential patch: Install SilentPatch (CookiePLMonster) into the game folder. It is what actually fixes the game-breaking texture/graphical corruption on modern systems (the standalone "Modern Windows Fix" is an older fix superseded by SilentPatch — you do not need both), and it also adds a proper gamepad control scheme, fixes the very slow in-game mouse speed, and adds windowed mode and a skippable intro. Updating the game to patch 1.00.2 first is recommended.
Controller: Controller is not reliably native — install SilentPatch (or GangstaPatch, which adds Xbox/PlayStation/Steam Deck button prompts) for a good gamepad scheme. If the pad still isn't detected, enable Steam Input so it presents as an Xbox controller.
Loading hang: If it hangs forever on the loading screen after the prologue, cap the frame rate to 30 fps (set FPSLimit = 30 in the Fusion Fix D3D9.ini). Once the game has saved past the prologue the limit can be raised.
The one thing to know
Supply your own copy: Long delisted (film-license expiry) — configuration only, no links. No canonical Steam app, so steam_appid is blank (645320 is a different game, "SCARF").
Required fix: Required launch option PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %COMMAND% (black screen without it); stay on Proton Experimental so the analog sticks are detected.
Essential patch: SilentPatch (into the game folder) is required to fix the game-breaking texture/graphical corruption on modern systems — this is not just cosmetic. It also adds the better gamepad scheme and fixes the slow mouse speed. (It supersedes the older standalone "Modern Windows Fix"; you do not need both.)
Controller: Not reliably native — use SilentPatch (or GangstaPatch for Steam Deck button prompts), and enable Steam Input if the pad still isn't picked up.
Stability: The original game is janky and can crash without warning; loading-screen hangs after the prologue are fixed by capping to 30 fps (FPSLimit = 30 in the Fusion Fix D3D9.ini).
Remaster: A community Remastered Project mod (final 2022 build) also runs on Deck with mostly-correct Deck button prompts.
Tier note: Marked silver rather than gold — it is playable but needs several manual tweaks (WineD3D, SilentPatch, FPS cap), and there is no official ProtonDB page since the game is delisted.

Get the artwork
deckport never hosts game images. Open this game on SteamGridDB, pick
the cover / hero / logo / icon you like, and drop them into the
game folder under .deckport-art/ before you push it to the
Deck. The importer files them under the right names automatically.
Run it on your Deck
Two files: the one-time importer (deckport.py) in your
Deck's home folder, and this game's install helper. Copy the game
into ~/Games and run the helper with Steam closed — it
writes the recipe (binary, launch options, Proton version)
and registers the shortcut with artwork.
