About

Skylar & Plux: Adventure on Clover Island is a third-person 3D platformer built in Unreal Engine 4 by the small Swedish studio Right Nice Games. Players control Skylar, a cat-rabbit hybrid accompanied by an owl named Plux, as she explores Clover Island to stop the villain CRT. It is an unabashed love letter to PS2-era mascot platformers like Jak and Daxter and Ratchet & Clank, drawing largely positive but mixed reviews that praised its level design and feel while noting its short length and lack of innovation. The game was delisted from Steam in August 2021.

⚙ Setup notes

Game: Delisted Steam game (appid 452540, sales closed Aug 2021). Unreal Engine 4 3D platformer — UE4 titles run cleanly on Proton/Deck with no DRM, no GFWL, and no special tweaks.

Launch: Launch the real game binary under SkylarAndPlux/Binaries/Win64/SkylarAndPlux.exe (the top-level exe is just the UE4 shipping launcher).

Proton: GE-Proton is a safe default; stock proton_experimental also works. No winetricks or launch options required.

Controller: Full native controller support, so the Deck gamepad works out of the box.

Install: deckport only configures the prefix; it never bundles or links the game files.

The one thing to know

Supply your own copy. deckport links nothing.

Delisted: Delisted from Steam (sales closed Aug 2021); single-player UE4 platformer, no servers to worry about.

Status: Community reports confirm it runs on Linux/Proton, so it should play on the Deck — status needs-test (binary path inferred from the standard UE4 layout, verify the exact SkylarAndPlux.exe name against your install).

Controller: Full controller support is built in.

ProtonDB: Tier shown as silver but UE4 + no-DRM usually means a smoother run; confirm on hardware.

Community guides

Write-ups and threads from people who got this (or a similar) game running. deckport links to them — it doesn't reproduce them.

Get the artwork

deckport never hosts game images. Open this game on SteamGridDB, pick the cover / hero / logo / icon you like, and drop them into the game folder under .deckport-art/ before you push it to the Deck. The importer files them under the right names automatically.

Run it on your Deck

Two files: the one-time importer (deckport.py) in your Deck's home folder, and this game's install helper. Copy the game into ~/Games and run the helper with Steam closed — it writes the recipe (binary, launch options, Proton version) and registers the shortcut with artwork.
