About
Super Mega Baseball 2 is an arcade-leaning baseball game and the second entry in Metalhead Software's Super Mega Baseball series. Built in the Unity engine, it features a customizable roster of fictional teams and players, a tunable difficulty system (Ego), exhibition and season/franchise modes, and a stylized cartoon art direction rather than licensed MLB teams. It was well received for its accessible-yet-deep gameplay and earned a ProtonDB gold rating on Linux. The game was pulled from Steam in January 2024 and its online services were shut down later that year, leaving the single-player modes as the fully playable experience.

⚙ Setup notes
Status: Delisted Steam game (appid 414870; pulled from sale 2024-01-26, online services shut down 2024-07-24).
Install: Unity-engine arcade baseball, exe is supermegabaseball.exe in the Super Mega Baseball 2 folder.
Proton: Runs well on Deck via Proton (ProtonDB gold, though a low-confidence sample of ~11 reports); GE-Proton is the safe choice but proton_experimental also works.
DRM: No GFWL/SecuROM DRM to bypass — it's a straightforward Steam DRM title.
Controller: Full native Xinput controller support, so it plays gamepad-out-of-the-box on the Deck with no Steam Input layout needed.
Online: Online/multiplayer servers are dead; single-player exhibition and season modes are unaffected.
Note: deckport only configures the prefix; it never bundles or links the game files.
The one thing to know
Supply your own copy: Delisted from Steam 2024-01-26 and no longer for sale.
Proton: ProtonDB gold (low-confidence, only ~11 reports) — community reports it running on Linux/Proton/Deck.
Controller: Native controller support means no Steam Input layout is required.
Online: Online multiplayer servers were shut down 2024-07-24, so only single-player (exhibition/season) is fully playable now.
Recipe: Updated with real exe (supermegabaseball.exe) and GE-Proton; still needs a hands-on confirmation on an actual Deck.
Note: deckport links nothing.

Get the artwork
deckport never hosts game images. Open this game on SteamGridDB, pick
the cover / hero / logo / icon you like, and drop them into the
game folder under .deckport-art/ before you push it to the
Deck. The importer files them under the right names automatically.
Run it on your Deck
Two files: the one-time importer (deckport.py) in your
Deck's home folder, and this game's install helper. Copy the game
into ~/Games and run the helper with Steam closed — it
writes the recipe (binary, launch options, Proton version)
and registers the shortcut with artwork.
