About

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD is a high-definition remake of levels from the classic Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2, built by Robomodo in Unreal Engine 3 and published by Activision. It rebuilds the original combo-and-trick skateboarding gameplay with updated visuals and modes like Career, Free Skate, Hawkman and Big Head Survival. The game met mixed reviews (Metacritic 66) and was delisted from all storefronts on 2017-07-17 over expired music licensing, though previously purchased copies remain playable offline. Online multiplayer servers are no longer active, but the single-player content runs fully offline.

⚙ Setup notes

Overview: Robomodo's 2012 Unreal Engine 3 HD remake of THPS 1 & 2, delisted from Steam on 2017-07-17 (no longer for sale). Steam appid 207210.

Proton: UE3 runs well under Proton on Deck; use GE-Proton (proton_experimental also works).

Install: Game files live under Binaries\Win32 (THHDGame.exe = game, Launcher.exe = original launcher).

Fix: Install the THHD Launcher v1.02 + Community Patch (skejt23, KaMeR) over the install to fix resolution/widescreen, controls and visual fx; force the game to run the community Launcher.exe rather than the stock launcher.

Controller: The game uses XInput, but reports note it can fail to read the pad with Steam's defaults. If the controller isn't detected, set Steam Input to Disabled for this game (Properties → Controller) so the Deck pad is seen as a plain XInput device; you do *not* need a custom Steam Input layout.

Save/config: My Games/Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD/THHDGame/Config (THHDEngine.ini).

The one thing to know

Supply your own copy: Delisted commercial game (off Steam since 2017-07-17).

Proton: UE3 title, runs under Proton (GE-Proton).

Fix: Apply the THHD Launcher v1.02 + Community Patch (skejt23, KaMeR) for widescreen/resolution and control fixes, and launch via the community Launcher.exe in Binaries\Win32.

Controller: XInput-based. If the pad isn't detected, set Steam Input = Disabled for the game; no custom layout needed.

ProtonDB: Tier is gold but based on only a handful of low-confidence reports (some note .NET install hiccups on newer Proton); treat as needs-test rather than guaranteed.

Get the artwork

deckport never hosts game images. Open this game on SteamGridDB, pick the cover / hero / logo / icon you like, and drop them into the game folder under .deckport-art/ before you push it to the Deck. The importer files them under the right names automatically.

Run it on your Deck

Two files: the one-time importer (deckport.py) in your Deck's home folder, and this game's install helper. Copy the game into ~/Games and run the helper with Steam closed — it writes the recipe (binary, launch options, Proton version) and registers the shortcut with artwork.
