About

Yu-Gi-Oh! Power of Chaos is a set of three PC card game titles developed and published by Konami between 2003 and 2004. Each entry — Yugi the Destiny, Kaiba the Revenge, and Joey the Passion — lets players duel against a specific character from the Yu-Gi-Oh! animated series using a deck built from that character's card pool. The games faithfully implement the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game rules of that era. They were budget retail CD releases for Windows and were never sold on Steam; the long-running fan project Power of Chaos Trilogy AiO rebuilds the three games into a single modded client with an expanded card pool.

⚙ Setup notes

Run with GE-Proton. These are DirectX-era games from 2003-2004. The series consists of three separate titles, each a standalone install with its own executable: Yugi the Destiny (Yugi_Pc.exe, 2003), Kaiba the Revenge (Kaiba_Pc.exe, 2003), and Joey the Passion (Joey_Pc.exe, 2004). The recipe's default binary targets Yugi the Destiny — point the binary at Kaiba_Pc.exe or Joey_Pc.exe to launch the other two. All three are mouse-driven card games, so the right trackpad in mouse mode works perfectly; no native gamepad support, set the Steam controller layout to a mouse/desktop config. These were retail CD releases and the original discs used copy protection that fails under Proton, so the playable copy must already be a disc-check-free install. A community project, the Power of Chaos Trilogy AiO mod (ModDB), rebuilds the games as a separate modded client with an expanded card pool; it is its own install, not an official patch to the retail games.

The one thing to know

Not a Steam title, so there is no official ProtonDB rating; these simple DirectX card games generally run under GE-Proton but should be treated as untested. Three separate installs/executables: Yugi_Pc.exe (Yugi the Destiny), Kaiba_Pc.exe (Kaiba the Revenge), Joey_Pc.exe (Joey the Passion) — set the binary to whichever you are launching. Mouse-only: no native gamepad, use the right trackpad as a mouse and a desktop/mouse controller layout. Original retail discs used CD copy protection that does not work under Proton, so the install must already be disc-check-free. For a combined card pool, the community Power of Chaos Trilogy AiO mod (ModDB) is a separate modded client, not a patch to the retail games.

Write-ups and threads from people who got this (or a similar) game running. deckport links to them — it doesn't reproduce them.

Get the artwork

deckport never hosts game images. Open this game on SteamGridDB, pick the cover / hero / logo / icon you like, and drop them into the game folder under .deckport-art/ before you push it to the Deck. The importer files them under the right names automatically.

Run it on your Deck

Two files: the one-time importer (deckport.py) in your Deck's home folder, and this game's install helper. Copy the game into ~/Games and run the helper with Steam closed — it writes the recipe (binary, launch options, Proton version) and registers the shortcut with artwork.
